Regret to report the recent passing of Ernie Cunningham in BC.

SK 9868 Ernest Cunningham 1931-2015
Ernest (Ernie) Cunningham passed away on March 31, 2015 in Fanny Bay BC after a short illness. He enrolled in the Canadian Scottish Regiment in 1951 and was assigned first to the First Canadian Highland Battalion (1 CH

and subsequently re-assigned to 2 CHB being formed in Camp Aldershot NS. Ernie served in D Coy 2 RHC in Korea (1953-54), following which he served in the Pipes and Drums as a drummer and later as a driver in HQ Coy. He was posted to the RHC Depot in 1962, where he remained before taking his release from the CF in 1966 in the rank of corporal. Ernie returned to Vancouver Island, pursuing a full-time career in the forestry industry until 1989, following which he engaged in part time contract work and took an active part in community activities in Fanny Bay. A Celebration of Life will be held in his memory at the Fanny Bay Hall at 1400 hrs, May 16, 2015.
