Desmond Joyce August 31, 1921 - October 8, 2015 Desmond (Demy) Joyce, born in Montréal to Maude (née Deegan) and Richard Joyce, passed away at the age of 94 at Ste-Anne's Veterans Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec. He was lucid, proud, and courageous to the end.
He joins siblings Richard, Harold, Edmond, William, Helena, and Alfred. He is survived by his brother Brian, and many nieces and nephews and their extended families across Canada.
Desmond was a distinguished veteran of the Second World War, having fought in both the Italian Campaign with the 48th Highlanders, and the Western European Campaign with the Black Watch. True to form, he never spoke of his experiences in the war.
A wake will be held at the Centre funéraire Côte-Des-Neiges, 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal, on Tuesday, October 13, 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
