Regret to report the passing of William / Bill Anstis three months ago in BC.
William A. Anstis ZK 4467 passed away in Victoria on March 14. His military career began in Vancouver with the Seaforth Highlanders Cadet Corps and its parent regiment before enrolling in the Regular Force in 1951. His first regimental posting was to 1 CHB in Hanover Germany in 1952, returning to Camp Aldershot in 1953. Apart from a short stint with 1 RHC, his regimental service was principally with 2 RHC, culminating in his appointment as DCO in 1968. Overseas duty included a posting to the Canadian High Commission in Canberra, Australia. William retired in 1979, transferred to the Reserve Force and rejoined the Seaforth Highlanders in Vancouver during the 1980s, where he served first as DCO, then as CO.
