Great news!
Murry has received the following from The Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall:
You may recall that one of Murry’s many achievements was the designation of “Black Watch Avenue” in Oromocto during the Regiment’s 150th Anniversary activities in 2012.
Murry joined our Second Battalion when it was born en route to Korea on 8 October 1953, and he remained with the Battalion until it perished on 6 June 1970. Besides Korea, he served with 2RHC in Aldershot, Gagetown, Germany and Cyprus.
On behalf of all serving and former members of The Black Watch (RHR) of Canada, I wish to congratulate Murry for his tremendous community work over the years which has led to this recognition by our Governor General. It is well deserved!
