Regret that Bob Works passed away yesterday in Fredericton.

Bob served with 2RHC / HQ Coy in the early 1960s.

Works, Robert “Bob” Leo

The passing of Robert “Bob” Works, of Durham Bridge, NB, husband of the late Sadie (Mader) Works, occurred on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 23, 1924 in Stellarton, NS, he was the son of the late Mack and Jenny (MacKenzie) Works. Bob was a veteran of World War II having served with the Black Watch. Bob had several interests; he enjoyed model airplanes, trains, loved reading, storytelling and sailing boats.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Mary-Lou (Malcolm) “Mac” Purdy of Hamilton, ON, Florence (Douglas) Peterson of Birdton, NB, Lois (Steven) Williams of Durham Bridge, NB; five grandchildren, Shannon, William Blake “Matthew”, Sara, Sharon and Scott; six great grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth (Don) Black of Onslow, NS, Marion (Michael) Martin of Truro, NS; brother-in-law, Gerald MacLeod of Truro, NS; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was also predeceased by his sister, Helen (Works) MacLeod.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at the Truro Heights Cemetery, Truro, NS. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
