Matthew Billard
BILLARD, MATTHEW (RED) GORDON - Matthew (Red) Billard of Oromocto passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 30th, 2011. Born on August 14th, 1944 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, son of the late George and Lillian (Vaters) Billard. He is survived by his companion, Linda Ward; his three sons, Matthew (Shelly Nicholson) of French Lake, NB, Marty (Kim Dargie) of Hamilton, ON and Jamie (Tanya) of London, ON; five grandchidren, Tyler and Connar Billard, Katie Billard, Jennah Nicholson and Ryan Garrity; brother, George Billard of Lower Sackville, NS and sister, Linda Ireland of Digby, NS and their families; in-laws, Kathy and Terry Mersereau of Hoyt, NB and Ralph and Bev Adams of Rusagonis, NB; nieces, Stephanie (Chris McGinn) and Shannon Adams. Also survived by his extended family, Karen and Matthew Comeau and son Samuel, Kristine and John Eliakis and sons Brandon and Elias. He was predeceased by his wife Linda Lou Billard (Adams). Red was a retired member of The Royal Canadian Regiment and The Black Watch Regiment.
Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations in his memory can be made to the IWK Children's Hospital. Personal condolences can be made to the family through the Oromocto Funeral Home website, www.oromoctofh.com, 357-5100.
