Black Watch School of Piping & Drumming

bwspd_enThe Black Watch School of Piping and Drumming is a non profit organization help funded by both The St. Andrew's Society of Montreal and The Black Watch (RHR) of Canada Pipes and Drums.

This program provides professional bagpiping, highland snare, tenor and bass instruction to young individuals up to the age of 17 at very little cost. The program also provides instruction to those people 18 and over within a different program.

The Montreal Black Watch Association Pipes and Drums was launched in 2010 as a result of both the success of the school of piping and drumming and interest from members of the Black Watch (RHR) of Canada. The band includes both members of the School, former members of the Regimental Pipes and Drums and other experienced musicians. Under the direction of Pipe Major Brian MacKenzie and lead drummer Jamie Kerr the Association band has performed and paraded at events such as the Jazz Fest parade in 2010, the Montreal St. Patricks parade and most recently on TVA’s La Classe de Cinquième.
